Herewith attached please find our application to be short-listed to supply item No:1 Electrical and hardware items, and Category 3: Safety and uniform items under a separate category, supply of soft furnishings, cutlery, crockery, and domestic appliances and industrial catering equipment, for the year 2010.
1. Company Structure of the organization
Akbanies is a 36-year old established Company, based in Lilongwe
The business started operations in the late 1960’s, and registered in 1974 under registration no 3357, and for the past 30 years or so have been vibrant in the supply of domestic linens, curtaining, catering equipment, office and household furniture, glassware, and crockery to the hospitality, catering, service and food service industries in Malawi.
We are pleased to advise you that we are also members of the Malawi Tourism Association, and we have been awarded by the Ministry of Tourism and Information, The Warm Heart of Africa Award 2005 – for “providing service with a warm heart” in our category.
We have since 2004, been appointed the official agent/dealer of Business and Catering Equipment, RSA. (BCE), and also have been appointed as the Authorized Agent/Distributor for Vulcan Catering Equipment in Malawi
BCE is the leading supplier of kitchen smalls, industrial cookware, and commercial kitchen appliances to the hospitality and food service industry, through appointed and accredited dealers (like us) nationally and throughout Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
Vulcan Catering Equipment is South Africa’s leading manufacturer, exporter and marketer of food service equipment. They provide a complete solution. Design and planning departments focus on meeting clients’ requirements through designing modern, functional kitchens which will serve their needs, not only now but in the future. We liase with the client and architect from stage one of a project, advising on the overall area and cost, through to specification and tender – including cooking equipment, preparation, refrigeration, service, ware – washing equipment and ventilation.
Our attached catalogues display the entire catering equipment product range we have on offer. The processes used in manufacturing these products are approved by ISO9000 standards and are used for heavy-duty industrial processes. These products are intended to improve standards and efficiency of output in all tourism and service related organizations such as Hotels, Motels, Rest houses, Lodges, Cafes, Hospitals, Institutions, Schools, and Cafeterias.
We offer after-sales service and do stock spare parts for these products.
The attached catalogue acts as a source of information for existing and prospective customers, making available to them the range of products offered by Akbanies.
Cost effectiveness is important when purchasing kitchen equipment and good service operators should consider the advantage of a systems approach rather than buy ad-hoc pieces of equipment, which may not be compatible.
